Healing Alternatives Meditation Center provides a place of community for those seeking guidance and support in creating health and happiness. We offer practical applications for today’s busy, noisy world. Our teachers, sharing knowledge as well as wisdom from their own life experience, assist you in finding your way to inner peace, healing and intuition.
In the Beginning.
Founder Lisa Chapman-Sorci struggled for years on her own, trying to find inner peace in a noisy, chaotic world. The only teachers she could find to study with were at lovely, peaceful retreat centers in remote areas where it is quite easy to relax and find peace. The difficulty came in trying to recreate that peace when she returned to her home in the suburbs with all of its noises and distractions. After much frustration, she finally realized that peace is found within, not without.
So, when Lisa decided to open HAMC, she chose a location in the suburbs, in an office building, with real, everyday noises and distractions.
This enables students to learn, with the help of an experienced teacher, how to deal with distractions and questions as they arise making it much easier to incorporate meditation into a daily routine, wherever that may be.
